Pg 048: Our adult children tell us...

Parenting

It has been revealing to be around our adult children.  In family settings, they will disclose things about their childhood that were previously unknown to us. We homeschooled them and we were together all the time -- well, maybe not ALL the time!

Our daughter reported, “Mom, you remember that dent near the bottom of the refrigerator door when we lived on the farm?  And remember how you told us not to play with the skateboard in the house? Well, those two things are related."

Our son recalled, “Dad, remember that time we had the high winds at the farm and the screen door got ripped off its hinges?  Well, Steph was being cute and locked me out of the house...I was so mad at her, I guess I might have pulled that door a little too hard."

We laugh together over these times and we build the memories we want (and need) as a family.
